MarineMax’s Michael Adams named a finalist for CIO of the Year

Michael Adams, MarineMax vice president of innovation and technology, was recently recognized as a finalist for the Tampa Bay Business Journal 2017 Chief Information Officer of the Year award.

“Innovation is a key component in the boating industry and being able to develop creative strategies is a major reason for our success. Michael Adams has been an incredible asset, paving the way for our continuing efforts in implementing new technologies,” said Brett McGill, MarineMax chief operating officer.

The 2017 Chief Information Officer of the Year is an award to identify those who are paving the way for Information Technology. These leaders are evaluated based on their contributions to their companies using innovative strategies while implementing enterprise-wide IT systems, effective leadership and management styles, community involvement outside of their organization, and significant contributions to the Tampa Bay IT community over their careers.

“As MarineMax continues to lead the industry in providing exceptional products and experiences for boaters, I’m excited to lead a team of outstanding IT professionals in support of that mission,” said Adams.

Having been with MarineMax for almost two years, Adams has delivered tools and solutions for MarineMax team members’ sales, marketing, administration and management activities. MarineMax said their technology team is also evolving to provide an unmatched digital strategy. This strategy will provide a seamless and integrated experience for the consumer in purchasing their boat, managing optimal operation, fully living the boating lifestyle and experiencing the rewards of a life on the water.

The winner of the Tampa Bay Business Journal 2017 Chief Information Officer of the Year will be announced Sept. 26, 2017.
