Sea Ray to debut several new models this fall

Sea Ray announced it will unveil a series of new models this fall for boat show season. The lineup is set to feature a wide range of products, from versatile new sport boat propulsion options, to new flybridge and coupe cruiser models, to a new L-Class yacht.

“We have set the stage for a phenomenal model year 2017,” said Sea Ray President Tim Schiek. “There are some truly innovative boats about to make their public debut, boats that address customer needs and preferences in exciting new ways. We eagerly anticipate the fall season and the year ahead.”

The following models will make their public debut in late 2016 (click on each model for individual model press releases):

Set to make its world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Nov. 3-7), the company says the new Fly 460 flybridge model advances Sea Ray performance and entertaining capabilities. The flybridge is available with a stylish arch or a hardtop that can be fully enclosed. Rich finishes and premium amenities combine with an open floorplan and living quarters, while an optional transom gourmet station with grill and unique self-deploying hydraulic swim platform further enhance water interaction. An available joystick control system provides for easy docking with shaft or Zeus systems.

Visitors to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will have the opportunity to see the Sundancer 460 and Fly 460 on display together for the first time. The company says these platforms serve the needs of a diverse range of boaters. Features include a full-beam master stateroom with storage, a sunroof illuminating the salon and a social cockpit with power actuated aft seat and optional sunshades for superior protection. The Sundancer 460 can also be seen at the Annapolis Powerboat Show (Oct. 13-16) and Atlantic City Boat Show (March 1-5, 2017).

Joining the L-Class comes the new L550 Fly, making its debut and world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale show. Like its larger L-Class siblings, the L550 Fly was built to blend a sophisticated, modern aesthetic with the latest advances in design and propulsion. The interior includes a sunlit salon and three staterooms. A well-appointed flybridge is geared toward entertaining, and both the upper and lower helm stations feature Raymarine electronics. Twin 850-horsepower Caterpillar inboards are available with joystick control for easy docking, and an available Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizer adds comfort.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the L550 Fly in Fort Lauderdale,” said Scott Ward, senior vice president and general manager, Sea Ray Sport Yachts and Yachts. “With its luxurious modern styling, exquisite lines, superior performance and effortless livability, the new L550 Fly is a fitting addition to the L-Class line-up and an enticing new option for yacht customers.”

The Sundancer 350 Coupe, a new variation on the Sundancer series, will debut and have its world premiere in Fort Lauderdale. Key attributes include the full-pane forward windshield; a walk-around to the bow and its new foredeck seating; a social cockpit; a sunroof; and opening side windows allow open flow of light and air. Below deck, two staterooms and a new enclosed shower are available.

Available for viewing in-water at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show comes the new SLX 350 OB, Sea Ray’s first model with triple outboard propulsion. The SLX 350 OB features an array of Next Wave innovations — from Quiet Ride with Tuned Transom to Dynamic Running Surface to Axius joystick technology. Built with a forward-facing tower that delivers shade from the sun.

“Sea Ray is proud to offer boaters more freedom — freedom to select the layout, the power configuration and the features that best suit their boating environment and lifestyle,” said Brad Anderson, senior vice president and general manager, Sea Ray Sport Boats and Sport Cruisers. “The SLX 350 Outboard delivers all the premium benefits of the beloved SLX 350, along with cutting-edge Mercury Verado outboard power.”

Sea Ray features another outboard option this year with the debut and World Premiere of the SLX 310 OB. Much like its sister model, the SLX 310, the company says this new sport boat models Sea Ray’s dedication to orchestrated excellence: the perfect balance of performance, convenience, technology and ease.

“Sea Ray continues to push the envelope for performance, design and capability,” said Schiek. “The coming model year lineup will demonstrate our commitment to innovations that our customers will thoroughly enjoy.”
