Upffront.com launches new website and broader portfolio

VALENCIA, Spain – Upffront.com has recently invested in a revamped website and a broader product portfolio. From its previous focus on selling composite cables, upffront.com has now set its sights on the efficient distribution of performance sailing systems (hardware and rigging) worldwide via the web.

Upffront.com Director Phil Anniss explains the rationale for the new business: “The marine industry is characterized by many small niche manufacturers of performance products and an equally disparate service industry; made up of small rigging, sailmaking and refit businesses situated in marinas and boatyards, in every corner of the world. Using the power of the Internet, upffront.com gives small manufacturers access to a worldwide audience and creates a more efficient distribution model for new, innovative products.”

Upffront.com is working to standardize supplier information to allow simple comparison between products and increase customer choice based on accurate technical data. Sailing hardware is normally incorporated into “systems” and therefore, connectivity between relevant products is a key theme across the site. A range of tools and configurators also helps customers build and purchase these multi-product systems online.

The anew upffront.com is a partnership between Peter Kohlhoff and Anniss. Kohlhoff has 25 years of experience in marine industry distribution in Germany, with a proven track record of delivering excellent value to suppliers and clients alike. Anniss started his marine industry career as a sailmaker in the U.K. but spent the last 10 years at the forefront of composite rigging development, and is based in Valencia, Spain.
