ABYC names new board members

The American Boat & Yacht Council has announced the appointment of four new members of the board as well as a new vice chairman and secretary.

Joining the board of directors is Ward Eshleman II from Ward Marine Electric, Inc.; John Fetterman from the National Association of State Boating Law Administration; Sara Anghel from the National Marine Manufacturer Association Canada; and Udo Kleinitz from the International Council of Marine Industry Associations.

“We appreciate all the new board members coming to ABYC this year and look forward to working with each of them to support the vision and mission of ABYC,” said Dave Marlow, chairman of the board of directors. “The organization has exploded with growth over the past few years under the expert guidance of John Adey, their president, and through the steady board leadership of many of today’s key industry icons.  The new members arriving will undoubtedly leave their own indelible mark as we continue to position ABYC as the industry’s leader in safety standards, education, training and credentialing for the marine industry.”

Kenneth Weinbrecht has been elected vice chairman of the board of directors. Weinbrecht is president of Ocean Bay Marine Services and is a life member and past president of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors.

Jeff Wasil has been appointed secretary of the board of directors. Wasil is an engineering manager with Bombardier Recreational Products’ marine propulsion systems division. He is also a member of NMMA’s engine manufacturers division technical board and ICOMIA marine engine committee.
