DORSET, U.K. – Sunseeker International will hold an exclusive celebration at Cannes Yachting Festival to recognise a huge landmark for the business – the delivery of its 100th luxury performance yacht in the 100-foot or above “superyacht” category. Owners and special guests from across the globe will attend a VIP champagne breakfast event on September 9 to celebrate.
The launch of Sunseeker’s first 100-foot or above model, the 105 Yacht in the summer of 2000, was the initial step in the brand’s progress toward becoming a major player in the superyacht sector. Since then it has taken the company less than fifteen years to reach this milestone, producing on average around seven 100-foot or above yachts every year at its manufacturing facilities in Dorset, U.K.
Sunseeker’s 100-foot or above offering has rapidly evolved and now extends from the 101 Sport Yacht to the flagship 155 Yacht, with a diverse range of options in between. The company also has several new models set for launch in 2016, including the new 131 Yacht and 116 Yacht, which have both attracted multiple forward orders from customers until 2017.
“Sunseeker is renowned for making luxury performance motor yachts that deliver innovation, technology, design and style. The breadth of our range is the world’s largest under a single brand, built upon a heritage spanning nearly 50 years. From our earliest model measuring a very modest 17 feet to our current flagship 155 Yacht, we pride ourselves on hand-crafting boats that inspire and delight,” said Sunseeker’s CEO Phil Popham. “This is a momentous occasion which is truly worth recognizing and I am delighted to be joining our customers and colleagues from around the world to celebrate our milestone of delivering 100 luxury yachts over 100 feet.”
Sunseeker's CEO Phil Popham has done an outstanding job. What a difference with 2009! Congratulations on this momentous accomplishment. Sunseekers never looked better.
