Unemployment rate drops to seven-year low

U.S. employers added 223,000 jobs in April, dropping the nation’s unemployment rate to 5.4 percent.

Unemployment dropped from 5.5 percent in March to 5.4 percent in April, it’s lowest rate since May 2008.

The 223,000 jobs added was slightly below expectations but well ahead of the sluggish start to the year. March’s jobs added, already disappointing at 126,000, was revised further down to 85,000.
