Powerboat sales continue upward trend
MIAMI – Sales of 15-Foot or greater powerboats reached into positive growth this August for first time since November 2005, according to Info-Link Technologies Inc.’s Bellwether Report. The report provides a rolling 12-month year-over-year percent change in unit sales and has been updated through August.
Sales for all powerboats increased about 2 percent in August, showing positive, but slowing, growth.
Outboard boat sales rose to 4.5 percent growth, about a 1-percent change from July.

Sterndrive/jet boat sales declined approximately 6 percent. Unit sales of ski boats were down 10 percent. Personal Watercraft were down roughly 9 percent. Sportfishing outboard boat unit sales were down around 8 percent.
The Bellwether Report is based on new U.S. boat registrations in geographically dispersed states representing roughly half of the U.S. boat market.
