Yacht club may have sent untreated water into river

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Ludlow-Bromley Yacht Club has been accused of allowing untreated waste water into the Ohio river by the Northern Kentucky Health Department.

The waste comes from restrooms and kitchen sinks, according to an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper. The club has not been cited, but has been given a deadline by which to rectify the problem.

An employee alerted health officials that the restaurant was no longer hooked up to the sewer system.

The Kentucky divisions of water and plumbing are also inspecting the restaurant to determine if there’s a problem in the pipes or the sewer system.

Officials say that it is safe to eat at the restaurant, but that swimming or entering the water is not advised.
