Washington boat show called a success
EVERETT, Wash. – The inaugural Everett Boat Show was a success, with a total of 8,962 people attending the five-day event, according to a spokesman for the Northwest Marine Trade Association quoted in today’s Everett Herald.
The association said it had expected the show to attract between 8,000 to 10,000 people and was pleased with the turnout.
“The sense around here was it was a big success for a first-year venture,” said John Thorburn, an NMTA spokesman.
Over 100 of the 238 boats on display were sold and the association plans to come back to Everett next year, the Herald story quoted Thorburn as saying.
NMTA’s goal is to make Everett a “personal and regional” boat show that becomes an annual event for boaters in Northwest Washington, Thorburn said.
