Palmer Johnson Purchases Intermarine Savannah

The Savannah, Georgia, branch of Palmer Johnson has announced that it has signed a purchase agreement to acquire Intermarine Savannah.
Palmer Johnson Savannah Inc., a member of the Palmer Johnson Yachts group of companies, said it will acquire “substantially all assets” of BCT Real Estate LLC and Savannah Shipyards LLC, which have been doing business as Intermarine Savannah.
The Intermarine asset package being acquired by Palmer Johnson includes a 21-acre facility in Savannah; a covered graving dock 53-feet by 73-feet, capable of drydocking just about any yacht in the world; a high-roofed main construction building more than 600 feet long; 700 feet of covered docks; and a 1,000-ton marine railway, Palmer Johnson reported.
The move will allow Palmer Johnson to expand its capacity in refit and in new build, according to Palmer Johnson officials.
“This deal provides PJ with the largest and best equipped new build and refit facilities on the East Coast of the United States, if not the world,” said Phil Friedman, president & CEO of Palmer Johnson Yachts.
Friedman also stressed that this will allow Palmer Johnson to expand into new areas.
“Our acquisition of Intermarine marks the beginning of an exciting new era in Palmer Johnson’s remarkable history.” Friedman said that once the acquisition is complete, the Intermarine facility will serve additionally as the launching pad for a new Palmer Johnson company that will build a new line of highly styled, high performance, semi-production Express Bridge Sport Yachts in the 120- to 150-foot range.
