Eastman Chemical to increase resin prices

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Marine-industry resin supplier Eastman Chemical Co. will increase its prices $0.07 per pound on all unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins for all shipments delivered on or after Aug. 16, the company said in a release yesterday.

Eastman said the increase was due to continued rising costs of feedstock raw materials, including crude oil and natural gas.

Eastman’s Composite Polymers business produces a line of unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl ester resins for use in reinforced composites and casting manufacturing.
