San Diego boat show follows trend
CHICAGO, Ill. – More than 28,000 people attended the San Diego Boat Show, held January 8-11, representing a 10-percent increase compared to the 2003 show and a 7-percent increase over the three-year average, show producers the National Marine Manufacturers Association reported in a statement yesterday.
“This was a great show. Very positive, with a lot of boats sold,” said Beneteau dealer Barrett Canfield with Southwestern Yachts Sales. “All attendees were talking about the economy more optimistically than they have the past two years.”
The San Diego show joins several other shows that have reported increased attendance during the fall and winter seasons, including the Fort Lauderdale and New York boat shows.
