PORT 32 Jacksonville Completes Dredging Project
PORT 32 Marinas, LLC (PORT 32), owner, operator, developer and acquirer of marina assets, just announced that PORT 32 Jacksonville has successfully completed a comprehensive dredging project. The project deepened marina slips to an average of five feet at mean low water and opened previously inaccessible berths closer to shore.
Set at the intersection of the St. Johns and Ortega Rivers, PORT 32 Jacksonville is located 25 miles from the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, according to the company. The marina sits close to downtown Jacksonville and within walking distance of a wide range of dining and shopping destinations.
With the dredging project now complete, near-shore slips that were previously limited by sediment depth are fully operational, according to the company, expanding the marina’s overall capacity and improving the experience for both current members and prospective slip holders.
Making PORT 32 Jacksonville More Enjoyable
The dredging effort required the temporary relocation of more than 130 vessels to allow crews full access to the affected slips, according to the company. For members who were not present to move their boats, PORT 32 Jacksonville coordinated directly with the local TowBoatUS franchise to provide professional relocation assistance.
“Completing this dredging project is a direct investment in our members and in the long-term quality of PORT 32 Jacksonville,” said CEO of PORT 32 Marinas, Austin Schell, in a news release. “Removing more than 5,700 cubic yards of material and reopening slips closer to shore means more access, more flexibility and a more enjoyable experience on the water.”
PORT 32 Jacksonville’s facilities include a heated pool, pool deck and hot tub, a modern clubhouse, hurricane hole and storm protection, key card dock access, elite dockhand service, and a complimentary laundry facility, according to the company.
Additional on-property features include outdoor grills and a picnic area, spotless bathrooms, private shower rooms, individual slip-side pump-out service and reliable Wi-Fi throughout the marina.
