Tohatsu notches 4 million mark with outboard production

Tohatsu Marine Corp. has reached the 4 million unit mark with its outboard motor production.

“It is a great honor to be able to celebrate this moment of such an achievement with you. For all that, we thank every single one of you,” said TMC President Toshihiro Kudo.

Tohatsu has been manufacturing outboard motors since 1956. Last year, the company completed a rebranding in Japan targeted for worldwide markets. An official announcement and release of the new branding and company logo will occur at next month’s Miami Boat Show.

“We promise to keep designing and developing simple yet reliable and high quality engines,” said Kuniharu Maki, Tohatsu’s marine sales department general manager.
