Boats Group moves headquarters to Miami

Boats Group announced it is moving their corporate headquarters to Miami, Florida. Currently based in Norfolk, Va., the company anticipates the move to be complete by mid-summer, adding 80 new direct jobs in the Miami area. The new facility will be located in the urban neighborhood of Brickell with a view of Biscayne Bay.

The company said the move to Miami demonstrates Boats Group’s continued commitment to their customer base, with over 25 percemt of Boat Group’s customers located in the state of Florida. In addition, the relocation offers the company an opportunity to have a physical presence in the largest boating market in North America as they focus on investing in innovations that bring the marine industry to the forefront of modern business.

The Miami-Dade Beacon Council is the official economic development organization responsible for assisting companies like Boats Group relocate and get established in the local economy.

“This successful relocation showcases Miami’s growing innovation ecosystem and Florida’s ranking as the boating capital of the U.S.,” Interim President & CEO of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council Sheldon T. Anderson said. “Boats Group perfectly matches our community of entrepreneurs and innovators.”

Boats Group is actively recruiting for IT, technology, marketing, finance, sales and account management talent to join their team in Miami.

“We’re excited to see Boats Group’s higher than average paying jobs coming to our community,” District 5 Miami-Dade Commissioner Bruno Barreiro said. “With more companies like Boats Group and the recent influx of Millennials to Miami, Brickell is becoming a more futuristic business district.”

The announcement is the most recent of a series of updates from Boats Group following its recent acquisition by Funds advised by Apax Partners, including a company rebrand and the appointment of Fulton as CEO.
