San Ramon Boat Center owners sell to Scott Vanderbeek
San Ramon Boat Center (SRBC), a longtime Cobalt dealership with stores in Rocklin, Calif. and Lake Tahoe, recently announced the sale of the business to Scott Vanderbeek. Scott is a veteran automotive dealership owner with more than 30 years of experience in retail business.
San Ramon Boat Center has been a Cobalt dealer since 1971, when owner Frank Warn and Cobalt Founder Pack St. Clair met at the San Francisco Boat Show. Together, these two marine industry professionals established Cobalt Boats as the recreational day boat leader in Northern California and on Lake Tahoe. Throughout the long-term relationship, SRBC has been the world’s largest Cobalt dealership 21 times.
“Frank and the Warn family have been friends since our first meeting in 1971,” said St. Clair in a statement. “It has been a successful and rewarding 45-year friendship, and we look forward to building on the rock-solid foundation for the next generation.”
Scott and his son, Jared will immediately be taking over the dealership. Scott and Jared Vanderbeek have an extensive resume in the automotive industry with a focus on marketing and customer care. Scott was the president of Woodland Motors for the last 13 years. He previously owned Vanderbeek Motors for 19 years, which he sold to AutoNation. The Vanderbeeks, who have been boaters on Lake Tahoe for almost 40 years, are eager to build on the successes and put their mark on the dealership. Cobalt said it is happy to welcome Scott and Jared to the Cobalt family.
