Michigan City boat show starts on Thursday
MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — The Michigan City In-Water Boat Show will start on Aug. 25 and turn through Sunday, Aug. 28, at the Washington Park waterfront on Lake Michigan. The show is produced by the Lake Erie Marine Trades Association (LEMTA).
The event will showcase new and used boats, accessories and equipment as well as educational displays. Abby Sunderland, a teen sailor who attempted to be the youngest to solo sail around the globe, will hold a book signing for her autobiography, “Unsinkable: A Young Woman’s Courageous Battle on the High Seas.”
There will also be appearances by Capt’n Willie the Great Lakes Pirate and Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel to teach boating safety in separate shows.
Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 28.
Admission is $10 for adults; free for children 12 and younger.
