MANASQUAN, N.J. — The Marine Trades Association of New Jersey (MTA/NJ) is urging its membership to take action to reinstate funding for the I Boat NJ program.
According to a statement from the association, state budget negotiations are underway and funding for the I Boat NJ program is being redirected back to the DOT budget for roadway and transportation projects, not boating projects, therefore essentially eliminating the grants that were available. This is going to be the third state budget that has taken funding from the program.
The association asks members to contact Commissioner Simpson’s and Governor Christie’s offices to urge them to save the program by not allowing the entire fund to be depleted.
