ITASCA, Ill. — On June 28, Peters & May USA will reveal its newly completed “Peters & May” hydroplane that will debut in the H1 Unlimited Air National Guard Race Series.
The boat will be unveiled as part of a community celebration in Itasca, the corporate headquarters for Peters & May USA.
The new 26-foot hydroplane is powered by a T-55 Lycoming helicopter turbine producing more than 2,600 horsepower. It will be on display with its race support truck along with race driver JW Myers. Myers and his racing crew will be available to sign autographs and answer questions about the boat, hydroplane racing and race safety.
The boat’s first race will be in the historic Madison Regatta, Indiana Governor’s Cup, in Madison, Indiana, July 1-3.
