In brief: Jestercom, Michigan Port Collaborative

Jestercom, which develops Web-based marketing solutions for the marine industry, recently launched its new “Personal Marketing Experience,” a new smartphone application for boat manufacturers and their dealers. Working with the boatbuilder, Jestercom will create a customized interactive software application, which can be uploaded onto the PME device. The PME application, which launches once the device is activated, presents a personalized welcome to the individual, along with extensive information regarding the model in which the prospect is interested, including specifications, video gallery, virtual tours, boat configurator and dealer information.

On Oct. 18-20, leaders from the Michigan Port Collaborative traveled to Marquette, Sault Ste. Marie and Alpena to meet with regional representatives from area ports to enlist their participation in the newly formed statewide organization. All three meetings saw attendance from about 80 regional port representatives. The Michigan Port Collaborative is made up of locally elected municipal officials, convention & visitors bureau officials, tourism advocates, private sector leaders within maritime commerce, ferry operators, marina and harbor operators, museum representatives, lighthouses and underwater preserve leaders, economic development and tribal officials, consultants and educators representing Michigan’s Great Lakes communities.
