Cannons Marina, Longboat Key, Fla., has earned the Grady-White Boats Admiral Circle and Service Excellence Awards for the 2009 model year. This is the 11th consecutive year Cannons Marina has been honored by Grady-White for its achievements in the areas of sales and customer satisfaction. The Admiral’s Circle and Service Excellence Awards are reserved for those Grady-White Boats dealerships that have achieved the highest level of retail sales for the model year plus outstanding customer satisfaction index scores as rated in customer surveys.

The American Boat Builders and Repairers Association (ABBRA) has released its 2009 Wage Rate Survey. The survey is designed to help employers to remain fair and competitive in the market, and to help employees and independent contractors determine whether they are attaining the right compensation for their work. The Wage Rate Survey allows members to compares the salaries of their employees to others in the same region, and nationwide, across many job types. It contains information about hourly wages, average vacation time, benefits, and pension plans across a range of job categories including general manager, technician, store manager, rigger, dockhand and bookkeeper.
The survey was based upon the input of ABBRA members and other members of the marina and boatyard industry who agreed to submit their wage, benefit and skill level information through a questionnaire. The Wage Rate Survey (.pdf file) is available at no cost to all ABBRA members who provide data for the survey and is $65 for those members who do not contribute data. The cost of the survey is $99 to all non-members.

As demand for its products grows in Florida, Carolina Waterworks has brought on a new dealer in Orlando, H2O Floating Dock, LLC, which will offer the company’s complete line of dock products, including the Safe Haven Systems. A full-service dock business, H2O Floating Dock specializes in providing floating water access and watercraft storage solutions, according to the manufacturer. The company works closely with customers on new installations or upgrades, such as docks, gangways, lifts, mooring buoys and related equipment. Carolina Waterworks manufactures aluminum docks, walkways and gangways, dock flotation and stabilization, mooring buoys, hardware and other marine equipment.

YachtWorld.com, an Internet yacht brokerage portal and a division of Dominion Enterprises, has launched new mobile Web sites for the U.S. and the U.K. Optimized for iPhone/iTouch, Blackberry (OS4.6+) and Android devices, these new Web sites are streamlined versions of the full service Web sites that allow visitors to search boats for sale, view the boat details and photos, and contact the appropriate broker for more information. The company said it plans to launch additional international YachtWorld.com mobile Web sites, including French, German, Italian and Spanish, in early February.
