Lewmar University opens its doors

GUILFORD, Conn.- Marine equipment manufacturer Lewmar has created “Lewmar University,” an educational seminar series that will be held at boat shows the company will be exhibiting at in the United States.

The main premise behind the formation of Lewmar University was to better connect the boating customer with the Lewmar brand, the company said in a press release.

“We are so excited to offer this kind of interaction with our customers, and to help educate them on our products and their uses in this innovative program,” said Jay Stockmann, executive vice president of Lewmar USA. “Connecting with the end user is something that we at Lewmar have always been committed to.”

Lewmar University will be free to any boat show attendee and will focus on various issues from maintenance to installation of products and will showcase new products from Lewmar as well.

The first of the series is scheduled to run at the United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Md., starting Oct. 9, and will run everyday of the show at 2 pm in front of the Lewmar booth. The first of the series will focus on how to service a winch and winch maintenance.
