Mack Boring expands training facility

UNION, N.J. – Distributor Mack Boring & Parts Co. has more than doubled the size of its diesel training services facility, it reported in a statement today.

Formerly 1,300 sq. ft., the additional 1,400 sq. ft. of classroom and workshop space enables Mack Boring to conduct classes simultaneously, it stated. With branches in Wilmington, N.C.; Wauconda, Ill.; and Middleborough, Mass., Mack Boring now has 6,000 sq. ft. for training, including a dynamometer room and outside engine run area.

“We have 55 Yanmar engines for hands-on education,” said Training Services Director Larry Berlin. “We’ll soon introduce industrial and marine dealer training for Mitsubishi and Isuzu engines.”

Master technician Kurt Haseloff recently joined Berlin as a professional trainer. Since 1969, Mack Boring has trained 20,000 owners, mechanics, OEMs and military personnel. Its one-day Basic seminar covers engine components and operations, common problems and winterizing, while the two-day Hands-On course focuses on basic service and emergency repairs.

Mack Boring & Parts Co. is a distributor of marine and industrial diesel engines, generators, transmissions and accessories.
