Southco Marine completes new facility

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. — Marine industry supplier Southco Marine will formally open its new 16,000 square-foot production and distribution center in Florida during an open house on Sept. 11 at 2:00 pm, the company reported in a recent statement.

Located in Rockledge, Brevard County, the new complex replaces the previous Southco Marine facility in West Melbourne, Fla., and the headquarters of Orcas Marine Products in Crystal River, on Florida’s west coast. Southco Marine acquired Orcas Marine in the fall of 2006.

The focus of the new complex is to provide a higher level of service to the marine manufacturing industry, according to Richard Hipp, general manager of Southco Marine. The facility will enable Southco Marine to handle customer service, distribution, assembly and technical support all under one roof. The Southco Marine Rockledge facility will also house a product showroom to display the marine products and services provided by the company and will be used for product and application training, sales support, customer seminars and new product development.

“Our new Rockledge facility is physically closer to many of our customers and will allow us to ship all of our marine products from a single location regardless of where they were manufactured,” noted Hipp. “Our customers can also expect a higher level of customer service and a true one-stop shop for all their marine hardware needs.”
