Newport show to hold industry panel discussion
NEWPORT, R.I. – The Newport International Boat Show will feature a Boating Industry Press Conference on its opening day, Sept. 13, which will include a panel discussion on the state of the boating industry, organizers reported in a statement yesterday.
Show Director Nancy Piffard and Rhode Island Governor Donald Carcieri will provide opening remarks at the 1 pm conference and luncheon, and three panelists will discuss the influence of the global economy on the recreational boating industry, organizers reported.
The event will take place at The Seaman’s Institute at 18 Market Square. Serving on the panel will be Wayne Burdick, president, Beneteau USA; Paul Mihailides, Chairman, M2 Motoryachts; and Pat Burke, CEO, Pearson Yachts. The discussion will be followed by a question and answer session.
