Mack Boring streamlines operations

UNION, N.J. – Distributor Mack Boring used its recent 2007 Yanmar Marine Dealer Meeting, the theme of which was “It Starts in Bermuda,” to announce its newly streamlined operations.

Under the changes, the company will focus more on OEMs and refer more business to its dealer network, the company reported in a recent statement. While branch locations stay intact, all parts and engine shipments shift to the New Jersey headquarters for cost effectiveness. A new Dealer Advantage Network Web site features online parts ordering, warranty forms and searchable bulletins.

“These changes will provide our dealers opportunities to grow, be more profitable and offer more services to their customers,” said Mack Boring Co-President Steve McGovern.

The weekend event in Hamilton, Bermuda attracted over 75 dealers and 150 attendees and featured a round table discussion and three seminars on dealer development/marketing, warranty/service and sales.

“The meeting was a huge success,” said McGovern. “We’ve never had a more productive round table discussion.”

Mack Boring recognized top selling dealers in parts, small engines, medium engines and service/support. Johnson’s Boat Works was honored for best overall sales and Harrison Marine Repair received the Horizon Award for sales, service, support and facility improvements.
