Four Winns to undergo $1.8 million expansion

CADILLAC, Mich. – Four Winns is planning a $1.8 million expansion of its Cadillac, Mich. plant, intended to accommodate production of its new Vista 458 Cruiser, the largest boat the company has built to date, the Cadillac News reported in an article today.

Though the boat won’t go on sale until June, dealers have already placed 23 orders, according to the newspaper.

The boat builder, which currently employs 753 workers, will hire 80 new ones to build the cruiser line, the newspaper reported.

Work on the addition is expected to begin this spring and be completed by the fall. An $800,000 grant from the state of Michigan and $80,000 from the city will be used to improve the industrial park’s roads and sewer, and to construct and pave new parking lots, the article stated.
