Over 130 attendees expected at MBIA event

LIVONIA, Mich. – A strong showing of boat dealers, marina operators and other Michigan Boating Industries Association’s members will be attending the annual Recreational Boating Educational Conference Nov. 29 through Dec. 1, 2006, at the Dearborn Inn in Dearborn, Mich., MBIA said in a press release yesterday.

The three-day educational conference has attracted nearly 140 marine business representatives from around the state of Michigan. The boating conference agenda is designed to address the many business- and marine-related issues facing marine businesses today. Professional speakers and industry specialists fill the agenda including sessions designed specifically for business owners, department managers and their staff.

“Our industry is on the brink of a strong revival with the second year of the Grow Boating Initiative underway,” said Van W. Snider, Jr., MBIA president. “We must stay educated, informed and flexible to survive in this industry, as well as any other. RBEC offers MBIA members education and networking opportunities; both are key to business stability and growth.”

The MBIA, a statewide trade association representing more than 385 marine businesses, sponsors the conference. MBIA’s annual meeting is also held during RBEC, which includes board election results and the appointment of year 2007 officers.
