MarineMax takes on Cabo line
CLEARWATER, Fla. – Boat mega-retailer MarineMax, Inc. (NYSE: HZO) is adding Cabo Yachts to its product line-up, becoming Cabo’s authorized sales and service provider on Florida’s west coast and the panhandle, a territory formerly held by Galati Yacht Sales.
Cabo Yachts, which belongs to Brunswick Corp.’s Hatteras Collection, builds sportfishing boats from 32 to 52 feet. Retail prices for Cabo Yachts have historically ranged from approximately $450,000 to in excess of $1.7 million.
“The Cabo brand enhances our existing product portfolio and fills a gap previously unserved by our other products,” said William H. McGill, Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer of MarineMax, in a recent statement.
The retailer will launch the Cabo brand initially through four locations including Destin, Cape Haze, Clearwater and Naples, Florida.
“We are looking forward to opening a new chapter of opportunity in this important territory with one of strongest boat dealers in the country – MarineMax,” said Greg Bourque, vice president of sales for Cabo Yachts, in a statement. “MarineMax has demonstrated consistent, aggressive growth throughout its product offerings for many years and we look forward to participating in that growth.”
