NMDA hands out Supplier of the Year awards

LAS VEGAS – Sea-Dog Line and T-H Marine Supplies won the 2006 National Marine Distributors Association’s Supplier of the Year awards, the NMDA said in a statement yesterday.

The awards were announced at a luncheon during the NMDA’s annual Sales, Training, Education and Purchasing Conference in Las Vegas.

Sea-Dog Line won for the second year in a row and the fourth time in five years in the Major Suppliers category. The Everett, Wash.-based company supplies more than 5,500 marine dock, deck and rigging hardware items, 12-volt electrical/lighting and ventilation accessories. Runners-up in this category were Tie Down Engineering (First), Meguiar’s (Second) and Marinco (Third).

T-H Marine Supplies of Huntsville, Ala., is a first-time winner in the Other Suppliers category. The family-owned company manufactures fishing, plumbing, hatches, rigging and performance products. Runners-up in this category were Uflex USA (First), CRC Industries (Second) and C.E. Smith Co. (Third).

The NMDA’s wholesale distributor members have voted annually since 1972 to recognize their top suppliers for overall excellence in supply chain management, marketing, packaging and shipping and customer service.
