Edson reports record sales month

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – June 2006 was a record-setting sales month for marine accessories manufacturer Edson International, the company said in a press release earlier this week.

Edson had the highest sales of any month in its 147-year history, with a 3 percent increase over its previous record. In addition, June 2006 was up 20 percent over the same month a year ago.

“In spite of higher fuel costs that are effecting much of the marine marketplace, we are seeing strong sales of Edson products through our dealer network, OEM accounts and retail customers,” said Edson President Will Keene. “The diversity of our product line, including sail and powerboat products, NavCom systems, industrial pumps and pump out systems, has attributed to our success so far this summer.

“As always, we have to thank our customers and dealer network for their confidence in our products and company and we look forward to building our relationships with them.”

Edson said management is cautiously optimistic for the remainder of the 2006 boating season and is increasing current production and inventory levels to meet the demands of the market.
