Charles Marine forms strategic alliance with battery charger firm

CHICAGO, Ill. – Charles Marine, manufacturer of AC and DC electrical products, has formed a strategic alliance with Charging Systems International, manufacturer of Dual Pro waterproof battery chargers, the company reported in a statement yesterday.

“Our customers have been asking us for a line of quality waterproof battery chargers to accommodate the small boat market,” said Lyle St. Romain, general manager of Charles Marine & Industrial Group. “We determined that teaming up with a company with a strong offering of high performance chargers known for reliability and safety was the best solution for our customers.”

Charles Marine will be offering the entire Dual Pro product line to its customers beginning in September.

“We are excited about the opportunity to expand sales of Dual Pro products into the saltwater and larger boat market,” said Johnny Brannon, Charging Systems’ president. “The alliance with Charles Marine will support our company goals of growing market share as well as provide us with an introduction to OEMs and customers Charles has developed solid relationships with.”

With manufacturing facilities of both companies located in the U.S. there is a strong synergy and commitment to product quality and reliability as well as a control over the entire production process, which the company said is an advantage that translates into significant benefits for customers.

Until now, Charging Systems has focused much of its attention on the freshwater market. The product line includes a full offering of Dual Pro waterproof battery chargers and accessories to accommodate the needs of boats in the 18- to 30-foot market.
