Defender awarded five dive/rescue boat contracts

WATERFORD, Conn. – Defender Industries has been awarded five contracts to equip inflatable Dive/Rescue Boats for fire departments and rescue teams in Thomaston, Conn., Hackensack, N.J., Beaver Falls, Pa., Parsons, W.V., Westerly, R.I. and Jefferson City, Tenn.

Defender has filled contracts for over 50 Rescue and Dive Teams so far this year. Many of them are volunteer departments operating on tight budgets.

“The bids were won by providing the functionality required for each department and offering a price that was within each town’s budget,” said Stephan Lance, Defender vice president. “It would be difficult to assist these important rescue teams were it not for the support provided by inflatable boat manufacturers such as Achilles, Avon, Mercury and Zodiac.”
