Brunswick pursues role in used boat market
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Brunswick Boat Group today named Gilles Meurice vice president – New Business Ventures, a new position that will report to Dustan E. McCoy, president of the Boat Group, the company reported in a press release.
“This new position is being created as part of implementing our marine growth strategy by offering additional services to our marine customers,” McCoy said. “Gilles’ main focus initially will be to look at the role Brunswick can play profitably in the used boat market. As part of this effort, we will look at opportunities to develop markets for certified pre-owned boats and re-manufactured boats.
“This could become a great competitive advantage for the Brunswick Boat Group and our dealers, if we can establish a reliable channel for the distribution of used boats.”
Most recently, Meurice held the position of vice president and general manager for Brunswick Financial Services, where he was responsible for the launch of Brunswick Acceptance Company (BAC), a joint venture with General Electric that provides floor plan financing for dealers.
