AB Marine extends warranty on boat fabric

MIAMI, Fla. – AB Marine Group has extended the warranty on the fabric of boats made under the AB Inflatables brand to 10 years, the company said yesterday in a release.

Starting with the 2004 model year, the Hypalon(r)/polyester/neoprene fabric used to make the inflatable tubes will be fully warranted against porosity deterioration, which affects serviceability, for a period of five years, the company said.

In the remaining five years, if the fabric is determined to be defective and requires replacement, a discount schedule will be used. The retail cost of replacing the tube will be discounted 50 percent in year six and decrease 10 percent each year after that until the warranty expires.

“At AB we are very confident in the quality and durability of our products and extending the warranty coverage illustrates that,” said Alvaro Betancourt, AB director of marketing.
