MIAMI — Sales of 15-foot (or greater) powerboats sales still continue to move toward stabilization, according to Info-Link Technologies Inc.’s Bellwether Report, which provides a rolling 12-month year-over-year percent change in unit sales. It is now updated through July.
In July, the change in unit sales was -0.4 percent, which is the closest it’s been to zero since late 2005.
Outboard boat sales shot upward about 4 percent and were also close to stable.

Unit sales of personal watercraft declined about 10 percent. Ski boat sales were down approximately 11 percent. Sterndrive/jet boats were down about 12 percent. Outboard sportfishing boats were down about 9 percent.
The Bellwether Report is based on new U.S. boat registrations in geographically dispersed states representing roughly half of the U.S. boat market.
