National shrink-wrapping association formed
MANISTEE, Mich. — Shrink wrap supplier Dr. Shrink, Inc. is one of the charter members of a newly founded non-profit organization designed to focus the shrink wrapping industry, according to a release from Dr. Shrink.
The National Association of Shrink Wrapping Professionals (NASWP) is founded on four goals. It will work to formulate industry standards for shrink wrappers around the world, provide educational programs, promote safety in all aspects of shrink wrapping, from heat tool usage to proper ladders for install projects, and find solutions to any environmental issues with shrink wrap.
“Commercial shrink wrapping has been around for 30 years without a guiding organization,” said Dr. Shrink president Mike Stenberg. “We’re proud to help all shrink wrappers by offering them the opportunity to join and work together toward common goals.”
Headquartered in Maryland, NASWP’s president is Chris Grimm of Atlantic Shrink Wrap. The organization plans to debut at this year’s International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in October.
