Boat theft ring broken in Michigan

SAGINAW COUNTY, Mich. — A series of boat and PWC thefts that spanned several Michigan counties has been solved by authorities.

According to a report by WNEM, the alleged thieves removed the identification number from stolen items and replaced it with one about to be salvaged for parts. They then registered the boats in Michigan. A scrap yard is also under suspicion.

The two men arrested, Aaron Vaughn and Brent Schmdt, are charged with eight counts of criminal enterprise and one count of receiving and concealing.
