IYRS to host open houses in November

NEWPORT, R.I. — The International Yacht Restoration School will host two open houses at its Newport and Bristol campuses in mid-November.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 16, IYRS will open its doors to the public at its 5,000-square-foot facility at the Franklin Street Marine Corridor, home to the school’s Marine Systems and newly launched Composites Technology programs. The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at 253 Franklin Street in Bristol.

On the following day, the school will host an open house at its waterfront campus in Newport. The Nov. 17 open house in Newport runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at the school’s historic campus at 449 Thames Street. The waterfront campus is home to the school’s Boatbuilding & Restoration program and includes two historic buildings from 1831 and 1903.

IYRS staff and instructors will be on hand at both events to meet with potential students and answer questions about the school’s marine training programs, admissions and financial aid. Attendees will also be able to view demonstrations and student projects at both locales.
