AMI, SOBA sign memorandum of understanding
WARREN, R.I. — The Association Of Marina Industries and the States Organization for Boating Access have signed a memorandum of understanding to foster mutual cooperation and collaboration, according to a joint release.
The purpose of the agreement is to “enhance the services available to members of both organizations, and to more effectively carry out their respective missions.”
Both organizations have an underlying goal of easing the means by which boaters can access the nation’s many waterways, and of preserving that access.
“Over the years AMI has worked with SOBA and has certainly been aware of what SOBA has done for the boating industry so it made sense to formalize a partnership and a means to better work together,” AMI Chairman Jim Frye said in the release. “AMI is excited about the opportunities that can come from working more closely with our states’ agencies.”
