New Nautic and Co America ownership sees industry upswing
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nautic and Co America, a full-service yacht repair company based at the Lauderdale Marine Center in Fort Lauderdale, was purchased in October 2009 by an investment group looking to expand into the marine industry.
The holding company, Nautic Enterprises LLC, is made up of a group of six investors from around the country who think the time is right to enter the marine industry.
“From our perspective, we think that things are on an upswing and it would be a good time to get into the industry,” Harold Markle, managing partner for the project, said in a release. “Our goal is to become the biggest and the best full-service yacht repair company in the area and we will accomplish that by providing exceptional quality and customer service at a fair price.”
Markle and his team hired nine new workers when they purchased the company and Nautic and Co America currently employs 14 craftsmen in a number of specialty areas. While the company continues to be a catamaran specialist and is an authorized dealer for Lagoon Catamaran parts, they have expanded their focus to the entire yachting realm and work on power yachts, sportfish and sailboats of all sizes. Recent projects have included a yacht extension on a 50′ catamaran, a complete interior refit on a 65′ catamaran and a complete paint job on 120′ yacht.
