Superman to kickoff NFBW

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Television celebrity Dean Cain has been enlisted to serve as honorary chairman of this year’s National Fishing and Boating Week celebration, the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation said in a release earlier this week.

Cain, made famous by his role as Superman in the 1990s, will provide media support for over 1,300 NFBW events occurring across the country through interviews and appearances on TV and radio. As the honorary chairperson, Cain will work to inform the American public on how they can locate events nearest their homes. He will also spread the Take Me Fishing message that fishing and boating are great ways for families to reconnect.

Cain will conduct a media tour around New York City June 2 – 3. NFBW is set to take place June 4-12.

His media appearances will include:

Fox & Friends (Fox News) – Thursday morning
Dayside with Linda Vestor (Fox News) – Thursday afternoon
MSNBC Live (MSNBC) – Thursday late afternoon
Cold Pizza ( ESPN) – Friday morning
– Western Fishing and Boating Radio

There will also be more boating and fishing coverage with the National Marine Manufacturers Association on Fox and Friends Friday morning, June 3.

“This is the fifth year for National Fishing and Boating Week, and with every year it gets bigger and better,” said Bruce Matthews, president of RBFF. “Having Dean participate this year and help generate national news coverage is particularly exciting. It is to every stakeholder’s advantage to get involved this year and benefit from the publicity.”
