Cummins MerCruiser Diesel increases its ABYC support

EDGEWATER, Md. – Cummins MerCruiser Diesel (CMD) has increased its annual membership support of the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC), the group reported in a statement today.

CMD, an ABYC member since 1995, increased its membership from a Manufacturing Membership to a Platinum Level Membership.

“We decided to visibly demonstrate our ongoing commitment to, and support of ABYC’s mission by upgrading our ABYC membership to the Platinum level. From new product development and design, to advancements in our electronics and vessel integration programs, we definitely see the value of ABYC membership in many different areas,” commented Gary Dickman, CMD vice president of sales and marketing. “For instance, having ABYC trained and certified marine technicians is part of our investment in our people, in our engineering and manufacturing quality assurance initiatives, and in our overall commitment to excellence.”

Cummins MerCruiser Diesel is a joint venture between Cummins, Inc. and Mercury Marine with a long-term vision to provide boat builders with an integrated system for vessel propulsion, power generation, controls and information for diesel engines.

ABYC develops, writes and updates the safety standards for boat building and repair in the United States.
