AMTECH endorses Marine Liens service
ROSWELL, Ga. – The board of directors of the Association of Marine Technicians said today that it has endorsed Marine Liens Ltd., owner of the global maritime-lien database.
AMTECH’s press release said members will receive a special discount when they use the Marine Liens services, which allow marine contractors who supply goods and services to check for past liens before starting work, and post new claims of liens on boats that have not paid their bill.
“AMTECH is continually looking for products and services that will be of benefit to its members and we think the instant lien search is a great tool,” AMTECH president Joe De Marco said.
David Hayward, president of Marine Liens, exhibited his services to AMTECH members at the organization’s recent National Marine Service Expo in Orlando. He was also a guest speaker at the annual technicians meeting during the Expo and explained the benefits in detail to the attendees.
“The nice part about this service is that you do not need an attorney or a judge to validate a lien, because liens are created automatically the moment the work is complete,” Hayward said. “Liens are attached to the boat and not to the owner, and it remains attached to the boat until the lien is settled.”
AMTECH’s goal is to improve the quality of marine services and to set quality service standards for the industry. AMTECH serves all technicians and service professionals in the marine industry. With continuing education and support for all marine technicians through AMTECH, members will provide better service, thereby, strengthening the industry’s customer base, the AMTECH release said.
