Gander Mountain moves into South Florida
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Outdoor retailer Gander Mountain is moving into South Florida for the first time with plans to open one of its largest stores ever at 100 Gander Way (at the intersection of I-95 and Northlake Boulevard) in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on March 31, the company reported in a recent statement. A grand opening is scheduled for April 11.
The store is the company’s fourth in Florida; a fifth store, located in Ocala, will open in May. Other stores are located in Jacksonville, Lake Mary and St. Augustine.
The 120,000-square-foot store features outdoor products including: firearms, equipment for hunting, fishing (including a large assortment of salt water products and a fly shop), archery, scuba diving, a variety of apparel and footwear, camping equipment and gifts. Fishing and power boats, ATVs, canoes, and kayaks will be displayed inside and outside of the store and there will be a special interior dock system display, the company added.
Among the store’s other offerings will be boat and motor service, and a marine and watersports department.
“We’re proud to be a part of the great heritage of hunting and fishing in Florida,” said Mark Baker, president and CEO of Gander Mountain. “This is one of the largest stores we’ve built so far. The size allowed us to add new features such as a marine and water sports department, our new Tall Tales-Real Food restaurant and expanded lines of fishing gear for both fresh and saltwater use.”
The store will also contain a “Gander Mountain Lodge,” a meeting room provided free of charge for meetings of local outdoor, business or community groups.
