Yacht Restoration School to hold annual gala July 9
NEWPORT, R.I.– The 14th Annual International Yacht Restoration School Summer Gala will be held at the school’s Newport campus on July 9, according to an IYRS release.
Coming after a year where the schools saw its largest graduating class in its history, the gala will feature a silent auction, as well as an unveiling of a black and white photography exhibit by some of the world’s leading marine photographers.
“IYRS and its broad international support base come together to celebrate the school’s progress and the students who graduate to careers in the marine trades. We have a lot to celebrate this year — including forty graduates, a new composites program, and a school that has great promise for the future,” IYRS President Terry Nathan said in the release.
Sponsored by the Hilton Group at Morgan Stanley and the Prestige Family of Fine Cars, the event will follow a reception for the school’s restoration society and on-the-water activities.
