Beneteau launches new US outboard boat line
Beneteau has announced it is bringing its Antares range of boats to the U.S. market for the first time. The Antares 21, 23 and 27 outboards are the new generation of coastal cruising boats from Beneteau.
The Antares 21, 23 and 27 were designed entirely by the Beneteau design team.
The tulip-shaped hull design of both new models in the Antares range deflects waves effectively, but still ensures stability on the water. The Mercury engines can provide up to 175 HP for the Antares 21, 250 HP for the Antares 23 and two 200 HP (twin engines) for the 27. Bow thrusters can be added for power steering-like maneuvering.
Access to the wheelhouse is made through a double sliding door. With its tilting design, the bench located to the left of the helm station provides a seating area, which can face the sea or the saloon. With its table lowered, at night this area provides additional double sleeping accommodation.
The helmsman’s seat tilts to reveal a galley area with sink, fridge (optional), stove (optional) and storage. The full glass surrounds the wheelhouse providing panoramic sea views. A sliding roof (optional) panel bathes the interior in natural light.
There is a full double forward en-suite cabin, which features a deck porthole, storage space, and a separate head with toilet.
The Antares 27 features a sectional sliding door and a panoramic sunroof, giving the pilothouse a 360-degree view of the sea. It also has a large salon with facing seats. The 27 offers a modular co-pilot seat that swings around to face the sea or interact with people seated at the table. A side starboard door makes moving about and maneuvers easier for the driver.
The Antares 27 has two independent cabins, a galley and a washroom.
The modular cockpit can be configured to ensure that time spent in the open air is pleasurable. It can be transformed into a sunbathing area, while the rear bench slides to allow the motor to be raised easily. Access to the water is achieved via the starboard bathing platform with its retractable steps.
The forward deck can also be used as a sunbathing area, and for anchorage the Antares 21, 23 and 27 can be equipped with an electric windlass (option).
Beneteau will demo the new U.S. line in the Annapolis area from Aug. 13-15, and the boats will also be on display at various shows in the fall.
