Beneteau ousts CEO Bruno Cathelinais

Bruno Cathelinais has been let go as CEO of Bénéteau, effective immediately, Reuters reported.

The company said the ouster was precipitated by “disagreements” with the board of directors over his role at the company and succession.

Financial director Christophe Caudrelier will serve as interim CEO. Herve Gastinel, head of its boats division, will replace Cathelinais effective August 26.

Besides its flagship sailing brand, Bénéteau has also made recent inroads to the small powerboat market with its purchase last year of the Rec Boat Holdings brands of Four Winns, Glastron, Scarab and Wellcraft. Bénéteau Group also owns the Jeanneau, Lagoon, Prestige and Monte Carlo brands, as well as a European homebuilding division.
