LITTLE MOUNTAIN, S.C. - Chuck Thurman announced that he will be retiring as President of Pleasurecraft Marine, effective September 30, 2015.
Pleasurecraft Marine, owned by Correct Craft, manufactures three engine brands, PCM, Crusader, and Levitator, from its headquarters in Little Mountain, South Carolina. For forty years Pleasurecraft has led the industry in providing the highest quality, most innovative inboard engines backed with exceptional service.
Thurman has worked at Pleasurecraft since its founding and has led the company as President for over 25 years. During Thurman’s tenure Pleasurecraft grew into a global business operation while navigating through several economic downturns, each time coming out stronger than before.
Succeeding Thurman as President effective October 1 will be long-time employee and current Vice President of Operations, Mark McKinney.
“I’m very appreciative that our founder, Paul Fletcher, trusted me to lead his company for over 25 years. I am also very proud that Pleasurecraft is positioned to last well beyond me with a team that, together with the resources available through Correct Craft, will take this company to places I couldn't even imagine,” stated Pleasurecraft Marine President Chuck Thurman. “I’m thankful to Correct Craft CEO Bill Yeargin for allowing me to be a part of this transition and I’m excited to see what the future holds for Pleasurecraft,” added Thurman.
Correct Craft President and CEO Bill Yeargin stated “There are few people, if any, in the boating industry who I respect more than Chuck Thurman.” “Chuck has done an outstanding job with Pleasurecraft for many years and he has done it with the utmost integrity. I admire and respect Chuck and consider him a good friend; we all wish him a wonderful retirement!” Yeargin added.
