NASHVILLE, Ga. -- In response to the increased product demand for the new Vortex Jet Boat Line, Chaparral is excited to announce the opening of an additional manufacturing plant at their corporate campus in Nashville, GA. The new plant opened mid-March and is dedicated to manufacturing Chaparral’s new Vortex Jet Boat Line.
State of the art technology and upgrades make this 150,000 square foot facility ideal for the production of the Vortex Line. The opening of the plant will initially add 65 jobs to the Chaparral work force.
“I have been very impressed with the progress that we have made as we move towards our full production goals in Plant 5. I want to thank the City of Nashville for their support and work that allowed us to open the plant.” said Buck Pegg, Chaparral Founder. “David Connell is our new Plant 5 Manager; I have all the confidence in the world in David and his team. I know they will do a great job producing the Vortex Line.”
Along with David Connell the Plant 5 Management team includes: Scott Adams – Plant 5 Final Line Manager, Audie Cumbuss – Plant 5 Lamination Manager, Tom Wilson – Plant 5 Wood Shop Supervisor, Jonathan Hendley- Hull Wiring Lead and Robert Trowell Jr. – Plant 5 Small Parts Supervisor.

The Chaparral Vortex was introduced last year and consists of a 6 boat series: 203 VR, 203 VRX, 223 VR, 223 VRX, 243 VR and 243 VRX. The Vortex was recently awarded the NMMA Innovation award for the its optional Aerial Surf Platform.
